Welcome to the Collegial Coaching Hub
This site is dedicated to supporting educators in developing and improving Collegial Coaching at their schools. Collegial Coaching is a professional development method where colleagues are paired together to help one another grow and improve with feedback and support. The method is aimed at increasing collegiality, improving instructional delivery and ultimately having significant positive impacts on student learning and achievement. "Critical Friends" (or collegial coach partners) observe consistently in one another's classes and provide non-evaluative feedback on their instruction in general and specifically around a pre-determined focus area.
If you are a School Leader and interested in bringing the model of Collegial Coaching to your school, this will help you to develop systems and processes to launch it effectively. If you are a school that already uses Collegial Coaching, this website will help you to refine and improve the systems and processes you currently use. If you are a teacher who is involved as a collegial coach, you will find videos, tools and resources to help you improve your craft as a coach to one of your colleagues.
This website was developed by two students in the High Tech High (HTH) Graduate School of Education, Cassie Pergament, the Director of DC Prep's Edgewood Middle Campus, and Geoff Roehm, the Executive Director of Launch Expeditionary Learning Charter School. It has since been supplemented by Daniel Wise, a teacher at High Tech High and student in the HTH GSE.
